The Riner Family

We are so thankful for our stay at Ronald McDonald House. Our daughter, Macie, has SMA or Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. It is the number one genetic killer of babies under the age of two. We traveled six hours to receive specialized treatment at The Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters.

We spent our baby girls’ first Christmas away from home. It meant a lot to us to have home-cooked meals and a bed to sleep in during such challenging times. We made friends, and just being able to see familiar faces in the evening for dinner made it easier when my husband traveled back and forth for work. We are forever grateful for the hospitality and for being able to stay so close to Macie.

The Riner Family stayed at Ronald McDonald House Norfolk 57 days.
