Ronald McDonald House & McDonald’s

From the very beginning, when the first Ronald McDonald House opened its doors in Philadelphia, the McDonald’s community has been part of something bigger than itself, helping families stay close when it matters most.
Today, that same spirit lives on here in Hampton Roads. Since 1981, local McDonald’s Owner/Operators, crew members, suppliers, and customers have stood beside our House as a founding and forever partner.
Their impact is felt in countless ways:
  • Crew members generously give their time as dedicated volunteers
  • Owner/Operators lend their leadership on our Board
  • Many Owner/Operators sponsor and champion our events
  • And so many give personally, from the heart

Through initiatives like the Round-Up for Ronald McDonald House program and various in-store promotions, everyday moments of generosity add up to something powerful: comfort, care, and closeness for families navigating difficult days

The Local Medical Community

For more than four decades, our relationships with the local medical community have been rooted in shared purpose: caring for children and supporting families through every step of their journey.

We are proud to partner with hospitals and care providers across our region to deliver family-centered support when it’s needed most. Today, families staying at our House are receiving care at:

  • Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters
  • Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
  • Kempsville Behavioral Health Center
  • The Barry Robinson Center
  • St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children
  • Sentara Princess Anne Hospital

Together, we are creating a circle of care, where families find not only expert medical treatment for their child, but also the comfort, stability, and compassion they need to stay strong.
